Parasmani, a geriatric care center and the entire team of nurses and paramedics are extremely good and they give lot of confidence to the family members. They explain the condition and mode of treatment well. They even, on their own, follow up by making calls , ascertain the condition of the patient and offer suggestions. On the whole we are very much impressed. kajal kumari

After taking a tough decision of admitting my mother in law (MIL) at a care center, I started visiting various care centers near Thane but couldn't make up my mind as where to admit her. It is then that I got the contact number of Dr. Manjusha Kulkarni of Parasmani geriatric care center. I called her up and visited the care center at Naupada. The first thing that struck me was the cleanliness of the place [ there was no typical smell very peculiar to the place where elderly people were looked after]. The center was small but it had a positive vibe to it. Dr. Manjusha Kulkarni and the staff were very warm to speak to and explained me regarding how they cared for patients. I decided to admit my MIL in Parasmani without any hesitation. Looking back I realise that it was the best possible decision. Initially I was a bit worried about how my MIL would adjust there.I was expecting a phone call anytime regarding her behavior but it never came. In fact Snehal always told me that aaji is very co-operative. Whenever I would visit Parasmani I could see maushi (Annapurna of Parasmani) preparing fresh food for the elderly. In November, I was informed that care center would be moving to a new address. The shifting was done by the care center. When I visited the new place, I was thoroughly impressed - the rangoli and the lamps at the door, the small reception area, the lovely paintings on the walls, windows big enough for sufficient air and light and the arrangement of beds. I must admit that I was a little apprehensive whether the quality of service would remain the same with the increase in number of patients. Within a few days I realized that the quality of service had not just been maintained but rather had been improved. I would get photos of breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner ( different menu every day and sweets according to the festivals),exercise sessions, birthday celebrations etc. With good care being taken, my MIL's health improved. She could get up and walk on her own. In January she had to be operated for hip bone fracture. My trip to Germany was planned. I was ready to postpone it. It was Dr. Manjusha Kulkarni who told me " there are 3 more weeks before you fly out. Don't postpone your ticket now. If I feel she is not progressing well, I will ask you to postpone your trip ." I didn't have to postpone my trip. Everything from getting medicines, diapers, removing the sutures, physiotherapy was taken care of. Last month end I got a call from Parasmani informing me that my MIL had to be admitted to the hospital. When I reached the care center she had been put on oxygen, Dr.Manjusha Kulkarni had found a hospital where ICU bed was available, she had spoken to the doctor and also arranged for the ambulance. She also told me to call her after the admission procedure. And all this after 11pm. Even during the time when MIL was in the hospital, Dr. Manjusha Kulkarni was constantly in touch through messages or phone calls. I would like to thank Dr. Manjusha Kulkarni for all the help she gave us during crucial times. Also a big Thank you to all the staff specially Chandani, Snehal, Usha maushi and Vidya. For all of them, their work is more than their profession , it is dedication and service to elderly. God bless them all. Best wishes to Parasmani Geriatric care center. Dinkal Shah
